Emilienne Farny

Émilienne Farny (born May 16, 1938 in Neuchâtel ; † June 7, 2014 in Lausanne ) was a Swiss painter and sculptor .

biography

Farny was born in Neuchâtel in 1938. She first received artistic training in Lausanne and moved to Paris in 1962 . Here she was particularly interested in Pop Art , for example the art of David Hockney and Edward Hopper . Farny returned to Lausanne in 1972. Towards the end of her career, she also dealt with graffiti and advertising. Farny was married to the museum director Michel Thévoz .
