Emilio Cordero (film producer)

Don Emilio Ilario Cordero (born April 2, 1917 in Priocca , † August 28, 2010 in Ariccia ) was an Italian Pauline priest and filmmaker.

Life

Cordero joined the Pauline Order early, in February 1932, and became the director of Sampaolo Film , a production company of his order , after World War II . In this role he was involved in numerous documentaries and some feature films that he produced. At the beginning of his activity there he was active as a director three times.

Cordero led San Paolo Film to a prestigious address due to the technical equipment available there and was director of the Catholic film company (Società cinematografica cattolica). From 1956 he had production in 35 mm format after the production company had to be re-established the year before . At the beginning of the 1960s he produced a cycle of naive film adaptations made in Sardinia of stories from the Old Testament . Cordero's last job for Paolo Film was coordinating the RAI film adaptation of Pinocchio .
