Reformed Church in Meisterschwanden
The Reformed Church Meisterschwanden is the village church of Aargau community Meisterschwanden in Switzerland .
history
Meisterschwanden and Fahrwangen , which are now united in one parish, belonged to the parish of Seengen until 1817 . After becoming independent, today's church was built between 1820 and 1822. At that time it was built alone, between the villages on a former parade ground, in the style of classicism . The church was built almost identically at the same time as the reformed church Seengen by the same builder. It is a rectangular transverse church with a front dome tower. The church tower is 48 meters high. The nave is very bright due to the high windows. The church was completely renovated in 1977/1978 and has been a listed building since then.
Furnishing
A floating pulpit is built into the church and is accessible from the tower. The stained glass windows that were in the church before the renovation in the 1970s can now be found in the parish hall. Since they were not part of the original equipment of the church, the preservation authorities ordered their removal from the church. The original mechanical organ, installed in 1864, was converted to electropneumatic action and enlarged in 1942 by Orgelbau Goll .
