Reformed Church Rupperswil
The Reformed Church Rupperswil is the village church of the Aargau community of Rupperswil in Switzerland .
history
Already at the end of the 13th century there was a chapel on the church hill of Rupperswil. This was expanded around the year 1500 and added a church tower. In 1681 a gallery and a pulpit were installed and when the church became too small at the end of the 19th century, it was decided to build a new one. For a long time, however, it was disputed whether the new building should be built on the same site as the old church or whether the old building should be preserved. It was not until 1920 that the decision was made to demolish the old church and build a new one in the same place. The inauguration took place on August 27, 1922.
A comprehensive interior renovation took place in 1970. At that time, the interior of the church was redesigned and got its current appearance. The last exterior renovation took place in 2002.
Furnishing
Two cabinet disks were transferred from the old church to the new building, as was the font. One of the bells of the old church was also preserved and can be seen today in the parish hall. In the church there are stained glass windows by the Aargau artist Felix Hoffmann , which were created in 1939. Today's organ was built in 1973 by the organ building company Kuhn from Männedorf and added a register in 1998 .
