Rued Church
The Rued Church is the village church of the Aargau community of Schlossrued in Switzerland .
history
Inside the present church, during excavations in the 1950s, walls of a pre-Romanesque church were found that were significantly smaller than the current building. This was followed in the 11th / 12th. In the 19th century, a Romanesque church was built, parts of which have been preserved in the present church. The current church was built around 1500 in Gothic style. It was changed again and again over the centuries, but with this new building and renovation it had reached its current size. Mainly the windows, the roof turrets and the interior design of the church were changed. The church has a gable roof with a turret and looks like a large chapel from the outside.
Furnishing
In the church there are grave slabs of the castle and patron saints who resided at Rued Castle. There is also a sandstone baptismal font from around 1500 in the church. The choir stalls date from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. The baroque pulpit was donated by Carl Friedrich Rudolf May in 1792, has a narrow staircase and the sound cover hangs over the narrow basket . Cabinet panels from the Renaissance and Baroque periods can be found in the church choir.
