Hendschiken Reformed Church
The Reformed Church Hendschiken is the Reformed village church in the municipality of Hendschiken in the Swiss canton of Aargau . The church was consecrated in August 1982.
history
The Reformed of Hendschiken traditionally belong to the parish of Lenzburg , today Lenzburg-Hendschiken. Since 1947 there was a desire for a church of their own. In the 1970s the plans became more specific and in 1979 the community of Hendschiken decided to make the building land available to the parish for a church to be built. The local community voted in favor of the demolition of the old school building and so space was created for the new church, a new school building and the civil defense system. The architectural firm Zimmer & Blatter AG from Lenzburg won the architecture competition for church construction. In May 1982 a building shell festival was celebrated, at which the bells cast by the Rüetschi bell foundry in Aarau were brought to Hendschiken. In August the new village center and the church were inaugurated with a large village and youth festival.
