Reformed Church Tegerfelden
The Reformed Church Tegerfelden is the Reformed church building in the Aargau community of Tegerfelden .
history
There was already a chapel in Tegerfelden in the Middle Ages. When part of the village population joined the Reformation in 1529 , this was used equally . After the parity was lifted in 1662, the Catholics in Unterendingen built their own church, while the Reformed from 1662 to 1664 built the current church on the site of the chapel. This was expanded in 1795 and adapted to the respective zeitgeist during renovations, the last time in 1957. The last interior renovation took place in 2011.
building
The church has a rectangular floor plan with an anteroom on the west side and a steeple on the east side. The latter is very striking compared to the size of the building. The tower only has a clock face on the north and south sides, but not on the east and west sides. The classicist interior was removed during the renovation in 1957 and replaced by a construction made of natural wood.
Furnishing
In the church there are ten cabinet disks from the 17th century, the five oldest of which are under cantonal protection . Three panes show the Reformed estates ( Zurich , Bern and Glarus ) from the time when Tegerfelden belonged to the county of Baden . The other two are from Brugg and Regensberg . The organ was built in 1959 by the Metzler Orgelbau company and in 1967 sculptures of the four evangelists by the Lenzburg artist Peter Hächler were installed in the choir.
