Emilio Zapico
Emilio Rodríguez Zapico (born May 27, 1944 in León , Spain , † August 6, 1996 in Huete , Spain) was a Spanish racing driver.
life and career
Emilio Zapico primarily took part in touring and sports car races in the early 1970s . This included endurance races such as the Spa 24 Hours 1973. missions in single-seater Trek was not until the 1976th
Emilio Zapico took part in only one Formula 1 Grand Prix in his entire motorsport career . This was in 1976 at the Spanish Grand Prix , for which he entered his own Mapfre-Williams team . He used a one year old Williams FW04 provided by Walter Wolf Racing . Zapico could not qualify for the start at the Grand Prix.
Emilio Zapico later withdrew into touring car racing before he withdrew from motorsport entirely.
In 1996 Emilio Zapico died in a traffic accident in Huete, Spain.
