Emily Tuei gained her first international experience at the 2010 African Championships in Nairobi , where she was eliminated in the first round of the 400-meter run with 55.80 seconds. Six years later, in which she hardly competed, she won the bronze medal in the 800-meter competition at the African Championships in Durban in 2: 00.70 min. At the IAAF World Relays 2017 in the Bahamas , she finished fifth in the Kenyan 4 x 800 meter relay in 8: 31.05 minutes. She also qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated in the first round in 2: 02.70 min . In 2018 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time and finished seventh there in 2: 01.74 minutes. In the summer she took part in the African Championships in Asaba and was eliminated there with 2: 03.40 minutes in the first round.
In 2018 Tuei became Kenyan champion in the 800 meter run.
