Emir Emin Arslan (also Amír Amín Arslan , Arabic الأمـيـر أمـيـن أرسـلان, * 1868 in Beirut ; † 1943 in Buenos Aires ) was an Ottoman politician , diplomat , writer and publisher .

Life

Emir Emin Arslan was a member of a Druze family from Lebanon . In 1893, Emir Emin Arslan came to Paris after his brother was accused by the Ottoman authorities of disturbing public order. In Paris, Arslan headed the Türk-Suriye Komitesi , which saw itself as an intermediary between Christian Armenians and Young Turks . Arslan moved the organ of the Türk-Suriye Komitesi , the Kashf al-niqāb , which was also distributed in the Arab provinces of the Ottoman Empire. After the Kashf al-niqāb was closed by the French authorities through the action of Abdülhamid II , Turkiya al-fatat of the Maronite Khalil Ghanem (1846-1903) served as an organ.

In a dinner speech on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Ottoman constitution in 1896, Arslan referred to the Committee for Unity and Progress as our party .

In 1910, Arslan was appointed consul general in Buenos Aires by the Ottoman government .

In Buenos Aires he published the weekly La Nota from August 14, 1915 to 1920 . In La Nota published among others: Joaquín Victor González , Leopoldo Lugones , José Ingenieros , Enrique Prins, Alberto Gerchunoff , Federico Barroetaveña, Ricardo Rojas , Juan Pablo Echagüe and Arturo Cancela . In August 1915, Arslan reported in La Nota about the genocide of the Armenians and criticized the extermination of the Armenians . During his previous stay in Europe, he had also rejected the Hamid massacre .

In 1926 he moved to Buenos Aires Al-Istiqlal , La Independencia.
