Emma Hayman (born February 24, 1988 in Durban , South Africa ) is a former New Zealand tennis player .

Career

Hayman started tennis at the age of seven and prefers hard courts. She only played her first professional tournament at the age of 18 at the end of January 2006 in Taupo . From 2007 to 2012 she did not play any other professional tournaments before she competed in singles again in September 2012 at the tournament in Bogota. There she lost in the second round. In the same year, Hayman and Jade Schoelink achieved their only tournament win in doubles in July. In the final, Hayman / Schoelink beat the German pairing Carolin Daniels and Dejana Raickovic in three sets with 2: 6, 6: 3 and [10: 8].

In 2013 she received a wildcard for the qualification in the individual for the WTA tournament in Auckland . She won her first round match against her compatriot Imogen Golder , who also started with a wildcard, 7: 5 and 6: 1. In the second round of qualification, however, she had to admit defeat to Hungarian Gréta Arn with 3: 6 and 2: 6. She competed in doubles with her compatriot Abigail Guthrie . The pairing lost her first round match against Yuliya Beygelzimer and Julia Glushko 2: 6 and 5: 7th

At the ASB Classic 2014 , Hayman received another wildcard for qualification , where she lost 6-0 and 6-1 to Richèl Hogenkamp in the first round .

Since 2013, Hayman has played nine games for the New Zealand Fed Cup team , of which they won eight and lost only one double.
