Emma Schmidt
Emma Schmidt (born February 8, 1944 in Vienna ) is an Austrian pianist .
Life
Schmidt completed piano studies at the Graz University of Music and attended master classes with Paul Badura-Skoda , Carlo Zecchi , Karl Engel and Sergio Lorenzi in Salzburg and Siena . A scholarship abroad took her to Venice for a year .
Schmidt taught as a professor at the Graz University of Music and as a lecturer at the Hanover University of Music . Since finishing teaching, she has devoted herself entirely to her solo career.

- 1969: Bösendorfer Prize, Vienna
- 1979: 1st prize in the chamber music competition "Vittorio Gui", Florence
- 2002: Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art
