Emma Wassiljewna Gaptschenko ( Russian Эмма Васильевна Гапченко ; born February 24, 1938 in Stupino , Russian SFSR ) is a former Soviet archer .

Career

Emma took Gaptschenko 1972 in Munich at the Olympic Games in part. With 2403 points she finished third behind Doreen Wilber and Irena Szydłowska and thus received the bronze medal. At world championships she was with the Soviet team in 1969 in Valley Forge and 1973 in Grenoble world champion. In 1971 she won the singles title in York . Twice she was vice European champion in singles, while she won three titles with the team between 1970 and 1974. After her active career, she worked as a trainer and competition judge.
