Emmanuel Bourdieu (born April 6, 1965 in Paris ) is a French actor and dramaturge .

Life

The son of the sociologist Pierre Bourdieu and Marie-Claire Brizards has been working as an actor and dramaturge since 1996. While studying philosophy in Bordeaux and Paris, he met Jeanne Balibar and Arnaud Desplechin . Together with them and Mathieu Amalric , Emmanuelle Devos and Denis and Bruno Podalydès , he founded the group of young cineastes called Rive gauche .

Emmanuel Bourdieu began his screenwriting career in 1998 with the plays Tout mon possible and Je crois , which were staged under the direction of Desplechin.

To work as a screenwriter, he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2018 , which awards the Oscars every year.
