Emmanuel Rault
Emmanuel Rault (* 1875 ; † 1939 ) was a French glass painter who created leaded glass windows primarily for churches in western France .
Life
Emmanuel Rault worked as a glass painter in the Lecomte et Colin studio (20 rue Sainte Melaine in Rennes ) in the 1880s . In 1894 he bought the company, which he ran until 1926.
As a result of the law separating church and state in France in 1905, there were fewer orders for glass painters, so that Rault had to gradually fire his employees. His sons André and Paul took over the company after 1926.
