Philippe Emmanuel Maximilien Marie Eudes d'Orléans, duc de Vendôme (born January 18, 1872 in Meran , † February 1, 1931 in Cannes ) was a Frenchman from the House of Orléans .

Life

Emmanuel d'Orléans was the son of Ferdinand d'Orléans, duc d'Alençon and his wife Sophie in Bavaria .

In 1891 he secretly married Louise de Maillé de la Tour Landry (1873–1893), she died one day after the birth of their son: Philippe (1893–1955) ⚭ 1928 Elisabeth Mirou Mah Nedjid Khanuhii.

On February 12, 1896 in Brussels, he married Princess Henriette of Belgium , daughter of Prince Philip of Belgium (1837-1905) and Marie von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (1845-1912). Four children were born from this marriage:

  • Marie Louise (1896–1973) ⚭ 1916–1925 Philippe de Bourbon (1885–1949), Prince of Naples-Sicily
  • Sophie Josephine (1898–1928), unmarried.
  • Geneviève Marie (1901–1983) ⚭ Antoine de Chaponay-Morance (1893–1956)
  • Charles Philippe (1905–1970) ⚭ Margaret Watson (1899–1993)

Emmanuel d'Orléans died in Cannes in 1931 at the age of 59. He rests in the burial chapel of the family members of the House of Orléans, the Chapelle royale Saint-Louis in Dreux .
