Lothar Dombrowski (born December 22, 1930 in Bromberg , Poznan Voivodeship ; † September 2, 2001 in Bergisch Gladbach ) was a German journalist and presenter .

Life

Lothar Dombrowski studied medicine for a few semesters between 1948 and 1950 and then completed a vocal training at the Berlin University of Music . In 1960 he started his first engagement as a lyric baritone in Kaiserslautern .

His television career began on July 1, 1965 as a radio and television speaker for Südwestfunk Baden-Baden (SWF). From January 1, 1967 to May 31, 1974, he was the spokesman for the Tagesschau and received great recognition for his high language culture. On June 1, 1974, he switched to the WDR as a permanent radio speaker . He moderated the ARD television program Schaukelstuhl as well as the WDR series Wednesdays in ... His voice also shaped the WDR2 midday magazine. In addition, Dombrowski took on the moderation of shows such as Glücksspirale , Ein Platz an der Sonne and UNICEF Gala . From July 1975 until his retirement in 1993 he was the head of the current speaker service on radio .

Lothar Dombrowski had a son and a daughter.

Georg Schramm 's cabaret character of the same name - an unruly, one-armed, old Prussian pensioner - is named after him.
