Emmersdorf is a district of Johanniskirchen in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn .

Emmersdorf is located in the Sulzbachtal on the 2108 state road about five kilometers northeast of Johanniskirchen.

history

From the 11th to the 14th century, the Count von Hals ruled both Johanniskirchen and Emmersdorf in the lower Sulzbachtal from Guteneck Castle .

Emmersdorf later belonged partly to the Obmannschaft Unterkollbach and Hofmark Pörndorf . In 1810 the Emmersdorf tax district was formed, from which the Emmersdorf Patrimonial Court emerged. The community came from the district court of Pfarrkirchen to the newly formed district court of Arnstorf in 1862 . In 1946 it was united with the community of Eggersdorf, the community name became Emmersdorf.

From an ecclesiastical point of view , it was pastored as a branch of the parish Uttigkofen excurrendo.

On July 1, 1972, Emmersdorf came to Johanniskirchen as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

Attractions

• The neo-baroque parish church St. Stephanus was built in 1911 according to plans by Michael Kurz instead of a dilapidated late Gothic church. The furnishings are mainly baroque.
