Emmet Sweeney

Emmet Sweeney (born October 18, 1955 ) is a historian , Egyptologist and chronology critic . He studied Egyptology at the University of Ulster and has been working at West University in Timișoara, Romania , since 2007 .

In his 20 years of research he dealt among other things with the chronology of ancient Egypt . In his works he advocates a radical shortening of the Egyptian chronology and bases his research on parallels between biblical accounts of the Old Testament and Egyptian sources. His theories are based on the catastrophism theories of Immanuel Velikovsky .
