En Gev ( Hebrew עֵין גֵּב ʿEjn Gev also Ein Gev ), is an Israeli kibbutz in the northeast of the country south-west of the Golan Heights . It was founded on July 6, 1937, during the British Palestine mandate, as a tower-and-palisade settlement . En Gev had 680 inhabitants in 2018.
En Gev is about 60 km east of Haifa on the east bank of the Sea of Galilee and has about 350 inhabitants. The kibbutz lies under the Golan area conquered by Israel in 1967 .
The inhabitants live mainly from agriculture (dairy farming, growing vegetables and other water-intensive crops) and to a lesser extent from fishing. Tourism is also playing an increasing role. The kibbutz offers guests for holiday stays, among other things, 96 bungalows and a restaurant. Every year takes place during the Passover , the Music Festival of En Gev instead. A concert hall with 2,500 seats was built for this purpose.
