En haSchofet ( Hebrew עֵין הַשּׁוֹפֵט ʿEjn ha-Schōfet , German 'source of the judge' , after the American highest judge and Zionist Louis D. Brandeis ) is an Israeli kibbutz in the north of the country, 30 km from Haifa and administratively part of the Megiddo region . It was founded in 1937 as a tower-and-palisade settlement under the British Palestine Mandate . In 2008 it had 759 inhabitants. The kibbutz had 833 inhabitants in 2018.

Ein HaShofet was founded by a group of settlers who are previously in the Hadera had then been in Joara. The group was formed from two HaSchomer HaZaʿir groups, one from Poland and one from America . It was also founded for military reasons, during the Arab uprising from 1936 to 1939.

The initially agrarian character of the settlement changed over the decades. Today she draws her main income from four factories, three of which are located in the kibbutz and one in the USA. Eltam, founded in 1967 as "Ein Hashofet Electric Industries", produces various components for electrical appliances; Mivrag, founded in 1950, produces screws and other metal objects; MAG EH, founded in 1999, produces parts for the automotive industry and has had a branch in Knoxville (Tennessee) since 2001 .

En haSchofet started raising cattle in 1938. Today, 270 cows are kept. The settlement also has an avocado plantation and farms poultry.

For many decades, the settlement has operated an ulpan for people who want to settle in Israel, and also welcomed numerous volunteers from Europe during the times when this was popular.
