The Encruzado white wine is an autochthonous variety from Portugal .
distribution
The variety is the most widely grown white wine in the Dão growing area . It is recommended to cultivate them in the Beira Litoral and Beira Interior regions, so that the planted vineyard area in Portugal is around 208 hectares (as of 1999).
Wine
The variety produces a fragrant, acidic and full-bodied wine with a moderate yield. The white wine is of medium to good quality and the bouquet is dominated by aromas of lemon, apple and freshly mown grass. He can benefit from a bottle aging of two to three years. Attempts to expand the varietal wines in barriques are very promising.
