The Endogonales are a small order of mushrooms .

The endogonales are thread-like fungi that do not form septa . Septa can occur in older mycelia . The zygospores are formed underground and have adjacent suspensors. The resulting fruit bodies are nodular and up to the size of a hazelnut.

The Endogonales live underground and form ecto mycorrhiza , or they live saprobionic .

Systematics

The endogonales were previously listed as part of the yoke mushrooms . In 2007 they were placed in the Mucoromycotina subdivision .
