Live and act

Engelbert Hardt received his first commercial training in the cloth factory Johann Wülfing & Sohn in Lennep, which is part of his relatives, and then worked for five years at Hardt & Co. in New York City , which his uncle Richard von Hardt founded and joined in 1873 as Partner entered. He was appointed to the headquarters of Hardt & Co. in Berlin in 1875 and also became a partner here. He then took a long trip to the branches in South America to get to know the local business. In 1912 Engelbert Hardt was the second largest taxpayer in Charlottenburg after Werner von Siemens , and thus made a significant contribution to regional development. He carried the honorary title of a (royal Prussian) secret commercial councilor . He found his final resting place in the Lichterfelde park cemetery .
