Engelbert Johann von Bardenfleth (born October 1, 1667 in Rechtebe ; † July 4, 1738 in Geversdorf ) was a German councilor, landowner and chief dichgrave .

origin

Von Bardenfleth was born as the son of Anna Margaretha, b. von Schade (* October 23, 1640; January 17, 1719 in Rechtebe), and of Addo von Bardenfleth (* 1632; † December 26, 1692) were born in the village of Rechtebe and baptized on October 22, 1667 in the Marienkirche in Wersabe . He had several siblings, including Addo Conrad von Bardenfleth (* 1665 in Rechtebe) and the Danish Lieutenant General Johann Friederich von Bardenfleth (* 1674 in Rechtebe; † 1736 in Delmenhorst ).

Life

Engelbert Johann von Bardenfleth was bailiff of the Neuhaus district in the Swedish duchy of Bremen-Verden until 1712 . After the death of the judge Georg Künhardt in Oberndorf , there was a legal dispute over the succession. Since Oberdorf belonged to his district, Bardenfleth had taken over this function on an interim basis. Later, around 1710, he was a royal Swedish councilor.

After being downgraded to district administrator, he applied for employment as Oberdeichgräfe at the Elbe, Oste and Schwinge between 1721 and 1723 , probably as the successor to Jacob Ovens . At the same time, Commissarius Fisci Hartwig Hintze brought an action against him for the administration of the Neuhaus office during the Swedish era, and Albrecht Andreas von Ramdohr was involved in the correspondence of these two matters .

He was the owner of an estate in Oldendorf near Stade, lived in Geversdorf and was married to Metta Catharina von Issendorf without children .
