English-language literature

The English language is developing into a world language as first Great Britain and then the USA become a world power.

English-language literature is produced in the following countries:

Aside from the common language, the authors also have common traditions to which they refer, such as Shakespeare or Virginia Woolf , and they appeal to a common international readership. A common book market is open to them.

It is not uncommon for an author to move from one English-speaking country to another. So is Brian Moore was born in Belfast, for a while living in Canada and settled in finally California down.

The most important prize for English-language literature is the Man Booker Prize , which is awarded annually.
