Enric Crous-Vidal

Enric Crous-Vidal (* 1908 in Lleida ; † 1987 in Noyon ) was a Spanish graphic artist , inventor of characters and writer.

In 1939, he went because of the Spanish Civil War to France into exile . In 1954, Crous-Vidal was appointed artistic director of the French type foundry , for which he drew several typefaces , notably Flash (1953), Paris (1953) and Île de France (1960). Enric Crous-Vidal founded the Graphie latine movement , with which he proposed an approach to the international typographical style and which he considered more adapted to the “Latin culture”; he relied on the ideas of Raymond Savignac .
