Enrico Stange (born October 17, 1968 in Burg (near Magdeburg) ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). Between 2009 and 2019 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school and three years of military service, Stange studied political science and Arabic studies . From 1997 he was self-employed, u. a. as an insurance specialist and co-owner of an internet café in Leipzig . Stange was unemployed from 2003 to 2005 and began his political involvement in the WASG in 2004 . From 2005 he worked as a constituency employee for Axel Troost ( Member of the Bundestag ).

From 1986 until his resignation in 1991, Stange was first a candidate and later a member of the SED . In 2002 he joined the FDP , the reason for this was the "security hysteria ( Otto catalog ) after [the] attacks on the World Trade Center". In 2004 he left the FDP and became a member of the WASG, where he was elected to the state executive committee in 2005. Since the merger of WASG and Linkspartei.PDS , Stange has been a member of Die Linke , and from 2007 to 2009 its deputy state chairman in Saxony.

In the state elections in Saxony in 2009 , Stange entered the state parliament via his party's state list. In the 5th electoral term of the Saxon state parliament, Stange was spokesman for his parliamentary group DIE LINKE for state development and infrastructure. He works on the topics of building, housing, traffic, regional development and spatial planning. From April 2012 to 2014 he was one of 19 members of the first Saxon NSU investigation committee "Neo-Nazi Terror Networks in Saxony".
