Enrique Cornelio Osornio Martínez de los Ríos

Enrique Cornelio Osornio Martínez de los Ríos (born September 16, 1868 in Santiago de Querétaro ; † April 1, 1945 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican politician and military doctor, most recently in the rank of General Brigadier Médico Cirujano, which corresponds to the rank of general physician .

biography

Osornio Martínez, son of Jesús Osornio and Refugio Martínez de los Ríos, attended the Colegio San Luis Gonzaga and from 1883 to 1887 the Colegio Civil of Querétaro . He then studied at the Escuela Nacional de Medicina in Mexico City until 1892 . He passed the exam in 1893. As a cadet , he graduated with the rank second lieutenant the Escuela Práctica Médico-Militar on military teaching hospital and then 1893-1895 specialist training for eye doctor in the United States and in Canada . In 1896 he married María Elvira Camarena Aldana and worked in Aguascalientes . As a liberal-minded politician, he was a local MP in Aguascalientes from 1903 to 1911 and also deputy governor of the state of the same name from 1910 to 1911 .

During the revolutionary struggles , he first served in 1914 at the rank of Mayor Médico Cirujano ( Medical Corps ) as a medical officer on the side of the revolution forces in several engagements, was the end of the year to Oberfeldarzt , 1915 to Colonel doctor transported and 1916 Surgeon General. From June 1, 1916 to December 11, 1917 and from December 4, 1920 to December 16, 1934 he was head of the medical service in the Secretaría de Guerra y Marina . Osornio Martínez was one of the two founders of the Escuela Constitucionalista Médico Militar , where he taught as a professor of pathology , medical therapy and ophthalmology and was also the head of the university. In 1933 and 1934 he was head of the Gaceta Médico Militar , the organ of the military medical services.
