Enrique Sarmiento Angulo

Enrique Sarmiento Angulo (born June 1, 1934 in Bogotá ) is a Colombian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Fontibón .

Life

The Archbishop of Bogotá , Cardinal Crisanto Luque Sánchez , ordained him a priest on October 24, 1958 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on May 3, 1986 auxiliary bishop in Bogotá and titular bishop of Crepedula . The Archbishop of Bogotá, Mario Cardinal Revollo Bravo , donated him episcopal ordination on June 13 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Rafael Sarmiento Peralta , Archbishop of Nueva Pamplona , and Víctor Manuel López Forero , Military Bishop of Colombia.

From August 13 to December 27, 1994, he was Apostolic Administrator of Bogotá during the Sedis vacancy . On August 6, 2003, he was appointed Bishop of Fontibón and on September 13 of the same year he was appointed to the office.

On November 25, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. the resignation put forward by Enrique Sarmiento Angulo for reasons of age.
