Crisanto Cardinal Luque Sánchez (born February 1, 1889 in Tenjo , Colombia , † May 7, 1959 in Bogotá ) was Archbishop of Bogotá .

Life

Crisanto Luque Sánchez received his philosophical and theological training in the Bogotá seminary . He received on 28 October 1916, the sacrament of Holy Orders , and then worked as a pastor in the Archdiocese of Bogota. Pope Pius XI appointed him in 1931 titular bishop of Croae and auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Tunja . The episcopal ordination donated him later to Cardinal appointed apostolic nuncio in Colombia Paolo Giobbe ; Co- consecrators were José Ignacio López Umana , Bishop of Garzón , and Luis Adriano Díaz , Bishop of Cali . In 1932, Sánchez became the Apostolic Administrator of Tunja.

Pope Pius XII appointed him Archbishop of Bogotá in 1950. Since then, he has also assumed the post of military bishop of Colombia .
