Louis Aubert
Louis Aubert (born February 19, 1877 in Paramé ( Saint-Malo ), † January 9, 1968 in Paris ) was a French composer .
Life
Louis Aubert studied singing, piano, harmony, accompaniment and composition at the Paris Conservatory , the latter with Gabriel Fauré . He then continued to work at the Conservatory and worked for French radio and as a critic.
In his works he advocated the independence of French music in the tradition of Fauré. Italian and German influences should be pushed back.

Aubert is the dedicatee of the Valses nobles et sentimentales by Maurice Ravel , who from 1897 also studied composition with Gabriel Fauré at the Paris Conservatory. In 1956 he was elected to the Académie des Beaux-Arts as the successor to Gustave Charpentier .
