The Colombian Military Ordinary is a military ordinariate in Colombia that provides pastoral care to Roman Catholic members of the Colombian Armed Forces .

history

The Colombian Military Ordinary cares for members of the Colombian Armed Forces of Catholic denomination with pastoral care. It was made by Pope Pius XII. Established on October 13, 1949 as a military vicariate . By mutual agreement between the Holy See and the Republic of Colombia, the seat of the Colombian military ordinariate is in Bogotá . It was raised to a diocese on July 21, 1986 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Spirituali militum curae .
