description

The Allgäu village in the valley of the Upper Argen has been a parish village for over 30 hamlets and wastelands for centuries . In the middle of the loosely built village rises the parish church of St. Gallus , which is surrounded by the walled cemetery. Founded in the 8th century near the Roman road Bregenz – Kempten by the St. Gallen monastery , the church was rebuilt in 1437.

The church building is assigned to the rectory to the north , a modern facility that has retained the external shape of the previous building from 1695. To the south are the sacristan's house from the 18th century, now the town hall , and the school from around 1925.

To the east are the old schoolhouse, the dairy , the beneficiary's house , the former bakery and the Adler inn with the former village forge . The buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries with pitched roofs are usually two-story, with shingled facades and shutters.

With the construction of the community hall from 1972, which was fitted into the townscape , the town, which only has three farm properties, received another focal point.
