The ensemble Upper Town in Weilheim in Upper Bavaria , the county seat of Upper Bavaria district Weilheim-Schongau , is an architectural ensemble , under monument stands.

It encompasses the Upper City, stretching east in front of the former Obertor, in a west-east direction in the 600-meter-long area between Schleifermühle and Bärenmühle .
The development of this artisan and arable citizen suburb on both sides of the Stadtbach in an elongated meadow shape goes back to the 15th century. Between four mills that were about 300 meters apart and built over the creek , there was a closed development with mostly low houses. The fire in 1810 caused a reorganization, the row of houses to the left of the stream was set back further south.
Most of the buildings in the ensemble were built during the reconstruction after 1810: In the western part there are mainly two-storey plastered eaves side buildings , in the eastern part gabled buildings with flat gable roofs , under which the closed row No. 117 to No. 137 (the odd numbers) particularly stands out.
The corner buildings often have hipped roofs , as do the three large structures, the mills that dominate the central axis of the ensemble, and the Ettaler Zehntkasten , which became the seat of the district office after 1862 . The stream is lined with a double row of trees.
