Ensio Hyytiä (born March 24, 1938 in Rovaniemi ; † March 24, 2019 ibid) was a Finnish ski jumper and Nordic combined athlete .
Career
In 1958 Hyytiä was in the Finnish team as a ski jumper for the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1958 . On the normal hill he was able to achieve the silver medal behind his compatriot Juhani Kärkinen and in front of Helmut Recknagel .
At the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley , he competed as a Nordic combined athlete in singles and came in 22nd at the end. The games were the only international competition in which Hyytiä competed as a combiner.
After the Olympic Games, he jumped in a total of four FIS races from 1963 . He achieved his best placement on January 1, 1964 when jumping in the context of the Four Hills Tournament 1963/64 in Partenkirchen with a 4th place. At the end of the tour he was 9th overall.
At the 1964 Olympic Winter Games in Austrian Innsbruck he reached on the normal hill and 20th on the large hill the 23th Place.
After his active jumping career he worked in his hometown club Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseuraa as a trainer and technician.
