Enzio d'Antonio

Enzio d'Antonio (born May 16, 1925 in Lanciano ; † December 17, 2019 ibid) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Lanciano-Ortona .

Life

Enzio d'Antonio studied philosophy and theology at the Diocesan Seminary and the Pontifical Regional Seminary "San Pio X" in Chieti. He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1949 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on January 9, 1970 archbishop ad personam of Trivento and coadjutor archbishop of Boiano-Campobasso . The Archbishop of Bologna Antonio Cardinal Poma donated him episcopal ordination on May 11th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Enrico Bartoletti , Archbishop of Lucca , and Leopoldo Teofili , Archbishop of Lanciano and Ortona. In 1977 he resigned from his office as Bishop of Trivento. After Alberto Carinci's retirement on January 31, 1977, he succeeded him as Archbishop of Boiano-Campobasso.

On June 24, 1979, he resigned from his office as Archbishop of Boiano-Campobasso and was named titular Archbishop of Velebusdus . On May 13, 1982 he was appointed Archbishop of Lanciano and Ortona by Pope John Paul II . On November 25, 2000, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
