Carlo Ghidelli (born April 24, 1934 in Offanengo , Province of Cremona , Italy ) is retired Archbishop of Lanciano-Ortona .

Life

Cesare Nosiglia studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the seminary in Crema . On June 28, 1958, he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Crema . He then continued his studies in Rome and was continued at the Pontifical Gregorian University for Dr. theol. PhD . He also obtained a licentiate in biblical studies from the Pontifical Biblical Institute .

From 1958 to 1982 Ghidelli was a lecturer in theology at the seminary in Crema and from 1970 to 1982 at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy in Milan . He was also the episcopal secretary of the Bishop of Crema, Carlo Manziana , from 1963 to 1982 , and from 1976 to 1982 diocesan pastor of Catholic Action .

In 1983 he became Undersecretary of the Italian Bishops' Conference and then from 1986 to 2000 Spiritual Advisory Council of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore .

On November 25, 2000 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the Archbishop of Lanciano-Ortona . He was ordained episcopal by the Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Giovanni Battista Re , on January 14, 2001; Co- consecrators were the retired Archbishop of Lanciano-Ortona, Enzio d'Antonio , and the Bishop of Crema, Angelo Paravisi . Later Ghidelli also became President of the Bishops' Conference of the Abruzzo-Molise ecclesiastical region .

On October 11, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
