history

The Eparchy Parassala was established on August 5, 2017 by Pope Francis from cession of territory to the Grand Archdiocese of Trivandrum and subordinated to it as a suffragan diocese. The first bishop was Thomas Naickamparampil .

The Parassala eparchy only records the Syro-Malankar Catholics of the area. The Catholics of the Latin rite and the Syro-Malabar rite who also live there belong to other dioceses.
