The Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of St. Thomas of Chicago ( Latin Eparchia Sancti Thomae Apostoli Chicagiensis Syrorum-Malabarensium ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church Uniate Syro-Malabar Church , located in Cicero in the United States . The local ordinary has been Jacob Angadiath since the foundation , who is also the permanent Apostolic Visitator of the Syro-Malabar Catholics in Canada .

history

With the Apostolic Constitution Congregatio on March 13, 2001, Pope John Paul II founded the first eparchy of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church outside India.

Several Knananite parishes are organized in the diocese.
