The eparchy Segheneity ( Latin Eparchia Segheneitensis ) is in Eritrea preferred eparchy of the Eritrean Catholic Church based in Segheneity .

history

The Eparchy Segheneity was founded on February 24, 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI. Erected from cessions of territory by the Asmara eparchy and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Addis Ababa of the Ethiopian Catholic Church as a suffragan . First Bishop was Fikremariam Hagos Tsalim .

With the establishment of the Eritrean Catholic Church on January 19, 2015, the eparchy was subordinate to the Archeparch Asmara as a suffragan.
