The Eparchy of St. Mary Queen of Peace is an immediate eparchy of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church based in Elmont . It includes the believers of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church living in the United States and Canada.

history

The eparchy was founded on July 14, 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI. established as the Apostolic Exarchate of the United States. The first Apostolic Exarch was Thomas Naickamparampil . On January 4, 2016, Pope Francis elevated the exarchate to the rank of an eparchy and appointed the previous exarch Thomas Naickamparampil as the first diocesan bishop. The entire territory of Canada, for which Thomas Naickamparampil had previously exercised jurisdiction as Apostolic Visitator, was added to the territory of the previous exarchate .
