Ephraim Gottlob Hoffmann

Ephraim Gottlob Hoffmann (born October 7, 1738 in Schmiegel , † May 22, 1787 in Zamość , Habsburg Monarchy ) was the first Evangelical Lutheran pastor in Lemberg .

Life

Ephraim Gottlob Hoffmann grew up as the son of the businessman Caspar Hoffmann and his wife Maria Elisabeth, née Adelt. She was a daughter of the Lutheran pastor von Schmiegel.

In 1778 he went to Lemberg to be the first to fill the parish of the new Lutheran congregation. He also looked after the parishes in Zaleszczyki , Zamość and Brody , which he had to visit at least twice a year. While he only had two baptisms a year in 1779 and 1780, in 1784 there were already 27.

In 1787 he died in Zamość.
