Friedrich Cerulli (* 1746 in Königsberg , Kingdom of Prussia ; † September 18, 1801 in Lemberg , Habsburg Monarchy ) was an Evangelical Lutheran preacher in Warsaw and Lemberg.

Life

Friedrich Cerulli came from Königsberg in Prussia . In 1777 he became pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Warsaw , alongside Gottlieb Ringeltaube . He became consistorial councilor and vice-president of the consistory and first head of the Protestant school in Warsaw. In 1784 he aroused violent criticism in part of the community with theological remarks about the Lord's Supper.

In 1788 the parish in Lemberg elected him their second pastor. Since Prussian clergymen were normally not allowed to be employed in the Habsburg Monarchy during this period, the court chancellery in Vienna issued a corresponding decree approving his activity. In 1789 he was appointed the first ecclesiastical senior for Eastern Galicia .
