Ephraim Meyer

Ephraim Meyer (born November 16, 1779 in Schnaittach (?), † August 26, 1849 in Hanover ) was a German money changer and banker .

Life

family

Ephraim Meyer was the son of the merchant and slaughterer Meyer Moses Löb from a Jewish family. He himself became the father of Louis Ephraim Meyer and Samuel Ephraim Meyer .

Career

Ephraim Meyer founded a money changing business in 1799 at the age of 20.

Ephraim Meyer was a board member of the Jewish Hanoverian charity and a member of the Jewish community in Hanover.

His grave can be found in the Old Jewish Cemetery on Oberstrasse .
