ε Reticuli ( Epsilon Reticuli , short ε Ret ) is a star system in the constellation Netz, about 60 light years away .

It is a binary system consisting of a subgiants the spectral K2, ε Reticuli A , and a white dwarf , ε Reticuli B . The angular distance between the two components is currently around 13 ", which corresponds to around 240 astronomical units . Ε Reticuli A is orbited by a substellar object.

Exoplanet

ε Reticuli b , sometimes also ε Reticuli Ab , is an exoplanet candidate that orbits ε Reticuli A, discovered through radial velocity measurements . It has an orbital period of around 430 days and has a minimum mass of around 1.6 Jupiter's masses. The orbit has a low eccentricity of approx. 0.1, the major semi-axis measures approx. 1.3 astronomical units .
