Eraldo Da Roma

Eraldo Da Roma (born March 1, 1900 in Rome , † May 27, 1981 in Rome ) was an Italian film editor .

life and work

Da Roma began his editorial career in the mid-1930s. In the course of his long career he was involved in over 140 film productions.

He was a defining figure of Italian neorealism ; responsible for the installation of a number of masterpieces of the era as Rome, Open City , Bicycle Thieves , Miracle in Milan and Umberto D. .

The close collaboration with three famous Italian directors: Roberto Rossellini , Vittorio De Sica and  Michelangelo Antonioni is characteristic of his filmography .
