criticism

“The plot is nothing,” wrote Heinz Stempel in a film review , “the staging is everything. Reality is only a ramp for the faunal game of ghosts. ”, Whereas the lexicon of the international film limits:“ The amusing idea is lost in superficiality. ”The Italian critic L. Pestelli said in La Stampa :“ Pietrangeli has a pleasant film shot, an appealing drama, even if it is sometimes a bit delayed and intrusive in the interplay of fairy tales and satire. ”He particularly praised the film's photography.

Remarks

Parts of the film music were reused by Lina Wertmüller in her film d'amore e d'anarchia .
