Enzo Cerusico (born October 22, 1939 in Rome , † November 26, 1991 ibid) was an Italian actor .

Life

The son of the film production manager Fernando Cerusico came into contact with the film world at an early age and played a considerable number of children's roles between 1948 (he was then eight years old) and 1953, including those next to Vittorio de Sica (as in his debut) or under Alessandro Blasetti and Goffredo Alessandrini . In 1957, after and still while taking acting lessons with Alessandro Fersen , Cerusico began his adult career on stage, where he was particularly successful in 1967 at the "Teatro Sistina" in Mea Patacca .

His film career had already started again around 1960; In numerous adventure and sandal films, more rarely in a contemporary setting, he played youthful and brash heroes. His television roles also corresponded to this stereotype, although they were mostly comedic: In addition to Graziella (1961), Rossella (1962) and I grandi camaleonti (1964), there were David Copperfield (by Anton Giulio Majano , 1965) and Il circolo Pickwick (by Ugo Gregoretti , 1966), who shaped his image, with which the "good-looking actor with remarkable interaction and mild to spontaneous pronunciation" also got a contract with the US television station NBC through his theatrical success . In 1968 he played a guest role in the television series The Danny Thomas Hour and led the character played there, "Tony Novello", in his own series My Friend Tony next to Professor Woodruff portrayed by James Whitmore in 16 episodes.

In 1971 Cerusico returned to Italy and made other films until 1976, several times under Dario Argento and including a film version of his Meo Patacca success, and then continued for television. After 1986, when he shot the miniseries L'uomo che parlava ai cavalli , he no longer appeared in public - the actor had always kept his private life very covered. There were also questions about the date of his untimely death (due to a spinal cord tumor).
