Life

Brignone, the daughter of the film director Guido , came into contact with acting at an early age and made her debut in 1934 in a film by her father, Teresa Confalonieri, and almost simultaneously on stage in Kiki Palmer's ensemble. She soon became a fixture in the theater scene, developing her range of acting in the acting companies of Antonio Gandusio and Nino Besozzi . She played with Ruggero Ruggeri , Renzo Ricci , Elsa Merlini and Memo Benassi and was a member of the Piccolo Teatro in Milan from 1947 to 1952 . Numerous positively discussed productions and audience successes followed in the decades to come, in which she played Prandello, Shakespeare, Molière, Goldoni and Strindberg as well as under directors such as Anton Giulio Majano , Leonardo Cortese , Mario Caiano or Andrea Maestranzi in television productions.

Despite regular but manageable cinema roles, Brignone remained primarily a stage actress; For a long time she was the partner of actor and director Gianni Santuccio , with whom she often collaborated artistically. In the dubbing studio, for example, she spoke for Anouk Aimée and Simone Signoret .

In 1982 she was awarded the Cross of Merit of the Republic of Italy at the level of Grand Officer . The following year she appeared on stage for the last time in Così è vi se pare .
